Participants completing this course will be able to:
- Evaluate and observe the child during assessment or treatment and complete task analysis with provided case studies
- Identify ways Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) can impact a child at various ages in school/home and community
- Select appropriate accommodations for a child with DCD in order to maximize their function in school/home and community
- Choose an evidence-based evaluation tool to address a functional concern/deficit for a child with DCD
- Utilize evaluation results to update a practical treatment plan for a child with DCD
- Apply an evidence-based treatment strategy to address a child’s motor coordination difficulties.
- Understand what DCD is and ways to assist your families in receiving a diagnosis-
- Identify what can be done when there is no diagnosis and the family is unable to obtain one

Melissa Gerber is a school based occupational therapist for the past 18 years. She began her career at NYU Medical Center-Rusk Institute, where she rotated through adult and pediatric programs. She is the president of 4MYKIDSOT, a private practice conducting preschool and early intervention evaluations and treatment.
